چکیده
Rhizoremediation is increasingly becoming a green and sustainable alternative to physico-chemical methods for remediation of contaminated environments through the utilization symbiotic relationship between plants their associated soil microorganisms in root zone. The overall efficiency can be enhanced by identifying suitable plant-microbe combinations specific contaminants supporting process with application appropriate amendments. This approach not only involves promoting existing activity microbes, but also introduces an adequate number catabolic activity. Here, we reviewed recent literature on main mechanisms key factors rhizoremediation particular focus soils total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH). We then discuss potential different amendments accelerate based biostimulation bioaugmentation processes. Notwithstanding some successes well-controlled environments, TPH under field conditions still widespread considered less attractive than methods. catalogued major pitfalls this at scale TPH-contaminated sites and, provide applicable situations future successful use situ soils.

Persulfate Oxidation for the Remediation of Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Contaminated Soils
The feasibility of total petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated (TPH) soil remediation was studied using persulfate oxidation. Factors tested included type of activator, persulfate concentration, number of persulfate applications, and reaction time. Probe chemicals were used to study effi ciency of the persulfate oxidation mechanism. The best activation method used Fe2+, which achieved 40.8% TPH de...

متن کاملCharacterization of a Polyacrylamide Solution Used for Remediation of Petroleum Contaminated Soils
Biopolymers are viewed as effective and eco-friendly agents in soil modification. This study focuses on the wettability analysis of polyacrylamide (PAM) solutions for soil remediation. The contact angle, surface tension, and viscosity of PAM solutions were experimentally evaluated in air- and decane-biopolymer solution systems. Furthermore, a micromodel was used to investigate the pore-scale di...
